The University of Leiria and Oeste (ULO) is a public higher education institution recognised for the quality of its education and training, applied research, and strong links with society and businesses. It comprises three research units rated “Excellent” by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in 2025 — ciTechCare, CDRSP and LIDA — which develop innovation and knowledge transfer projects in strategic areas. ULO is a founding member of RUN-EU – the Regional University Network, reinforcing its international outlook and fostering collaboration within European education, research and innovation ecosystems.
