On 18th September 2025, ciTechCare hosted a Campus 5 O’clock Talk, an ciTechCare initiative that aims to foster the dissemination of scientific knowledge and innovation in healthcare. This session was part of the MAP02 project’s dissemination activities.

Solange Castanheira, research fellow at ciTechCare in the MAP02 project, led the seminar, presenting an in-depth overview of the medical device certification process. The discussion focused on regulatory frameworks, quality standards, and methodologies necessary for translating biomedical innovations into clinically safe and commercially viable solutions.

With a focus on devices in pharmaceutical technology and health innovation, the presentation examined regulatory requirements, ethical considerations, and certification procedures, highlighting the critical interface between scientific research, technological development, and regulatory oversight.

The event provided researchers, students, and professionals with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the structured processes that ensure the safety and efficacy of emerging medical technologies.
